Hi, I’m David A. Lutz

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Accountancy from California State University, Northridge in 2016.  While going to school, I volunteered as a Coordinator at the CSUN VITA Clinic, which provides free income tax preparation to low income taxpayers.  I also volunteered at the Bookstein Tax Clinic, which provides free representation to low-income taxpayers facing tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Fresh-out of school with a degree, my first job was as an accounting intern at Tax Defense Partners, where I assisted the Comptroller of a large tax firm in Los Angeles in preparing internal reports and I even developed a dynamic cash flow report which helped management with decision making. Within the same company, I transitioned roles into a Financial Advisor, where I would work hand in hand, with Tax Attorney, Elizabeth Sheldon.

After working with Tax Attorney, Elizabeth Sheldon for many years, she had a new job opportunity at Leading Tax Group, which she brought me along for the ride to work as a Senior Tax Accountant. While working as a Senior Tax Accountant, I successfully passed all three sections of the Enrolled Agent exam in June of 2019. We also both worked our way up the corporate ladder and by the time I put in my resignation, we were both in the penthouse suite with window offices.

During my time working as a Financial Advisor and Senior Tax Accountant, I also started my own tax firm, LNK Tax Group, where we would prepare income tax returns and work on client bookkeeping projects.  The company grew quickly, and we expanded the company into 2 offices in the greater Los Angeles area.

Lutz Tax Services LLC was formed in December of 2023, when I moved back to New York, where I continue to offer remote services such as Tax Preparation, Tax Planning and Consulting, and Tax Audit Representation.
